Hey everyone, long time no post! The last time I talked to you it was April 30th and I was anxiously waiting for my baby. I had contractions the 30th and the 1st of May, and my induction was scheduled May 2nd. My mom came to our house around 4:30am and we left for the hospital and arrived at 5am. The actual induction occurred at 10am. Apparently I was already dilated to 2cm when I arrived, so my doctor, Dr. Susco, thought that labor would go by fast. Boy was she wrong! All day I was struggling through terrible contractions. They were painful but I wasn't progressing much, if at all. By 4pm I had dilated to a 3cm. Dr. Susco was concerned, and upped the pitosin. By late evening I was still at 3cm. Dr. Susco was constantly checking on the baby, and she said everything was perfect with the baby and that it was safe for me to keep laboring, if I wished. I, of course, wanted to because I wanted to experience having a baby instead of just having him/her cut out of me. I slept maybe 4 hours that night on and off, and woke up 6cm. Finally I was getting somewhere! Dr. Susco upped the pitosin again at 10am, after 24 hours of hard, tough labor. The contractions started to get even more painful and I was feeling urges to push. I was checked and I was 9.5cm! I had progressed 3.5cm in just an hour! The nurses started to rush around getting everything ready, and I called my mom to head on down to the hospital. She dropped Kate off at my aunt's house on the way. About half an hour ready, my mom arrived just in time for my baby to see my baby be born! I pushed for about 40 minutes, and out came Jackson Kyle at 12:16pm on May 3rd, weighing in at an astounding 9 pounds 8 ounces! Jackson was a chunk! Everything with the birth went smoothly, and I didn't get an epidural. Jackson was healthy and we came home from the hospital a few days later.
Life has been so busy with a newborn! Jackson needs me 24/7. I am breastfeeding him and plan to continue to exclusively breastfeed up to 6 months. He is a pro with nursing and loves to eat! He has gained just over 3 pounds since birth. He is a still such a chunk! Kate is now 1 1/2 and loves her little brother! She shares her toys with him and always tells me what he is doing and when he cries. I love my kids so much and wouldn't change anything for the world!
Jasper still works full time, 12 hours a day. I have recently become an editing advisor for a local baking magazine, Blessed Bakers. Posts are sent to me to be edited and then I sent them to my supervisor. I love my job! I only have to log 4 hours a day, which is usually when Kate and Jackson are napping, or at night when they are asleep. I will continue to post more regularly now that my life is under control again! :)
